If music be the food of Love, play on!
THERE’S a lot to remember, remember in the month of November. Bonfire night of course, the homage we pay to the fallen of two world wars… and here in wonderful Worcester we have that spiffing, splendiferous sparkler of an annual show which lights up all our lives as the nights draw in.
I’ve been reviewing Worcester Musical Theatre Company’s yearly offering at the Swan Theatre ever since the group was founded a few years ago. And I can say without a shadow of doubt that it never fails to provide a fabulous evening of entertainment.
Directed by Worcester’s very own Val Knight, the show features a feast of stunning choreography and close harmony singing that is an absolute credit to her work and that of the group’s members.
Although not exactly featuring the proverbial cast of thousands, WMTC gets pretty close. And that’s because it’s very much a joint effort, with the backstage staff also working wonders to ensure that whatever happens, that show will always go on.
This year’s spectacular is titled Love Is in The Air and is not only packed with more than 70 songs from the world’s greatest artists but also showcases All England winners Harlequin Stage School.
Once again, the company will display the stunning choreographic skills that have earned its members so much great national acclaim.
And there’s more. For the company’s guiding ethos has always been to encourage Worcestershire’s youngsters - and that’s why the next generation of performers from Himbleton C of E and Flyford Flavell primary schools will be appearing in Act 1.
Right. Now all you have to do is to buy your tickets as soon as possible, because there will be a lot of interest in this production which runs from Tuesday, November 10 to Saturday, November 14, with a matinee also being staged on the last day.
To book a seat at the show, please go to www.wmtc.org.uk/tickets, call or pop into the office at Huntingdon Hall, call on (01905) 611427 or contact online at www.worcestertheatres.co.uk
So – what are you waiting for? Don’t delay, make sure of your seat at Love Is in The Air… and brighten up those autumn days.
